To a Departing Self

Memories, fond and sad,
Memories that leave trail of pain
Everytime it pierces through the heart,

Tears for forgetfulness shed in vain
Yet the strange longing
The desire to cling to what's been lost
Like the last straw of life-

The piano hurts more
In the rain
As it ends,
Harsh music fill the air
Hoping the throb in the ears
Would reduce the pain in the heart.

The futile attempt to pen the sadness,
The futile wish to return,
The futile want to revert time,
All sinking in the vast sand of nothingness...

As the realisation dawns -
They were never real,
They were meant to be memories.

Paitings - 1

Here goes one of my favorite William Bouguereau paintings.

Hope you are well!

Looking  at the people around me everyday I often realise how differently we live our lives to attain just one goal - to live. Standing on the 67th Independence Day of India, it seems only proper that I would like to wish you a happy independence day with the prayer that we all live well. Jai hind!

And I saw it rain green
As you turned your face,
As you walked away,
Beyond the green through which
I could still see the rain -
The rain that poured green.

Shissou - Ouran HighSchool Host Club Lyrics (English transation)

I'm out of breath after running five thousand miles
With hundred liters of adrenaline,
I'm at full power

How much further is good?
How far would be OK?
The pattern of the town's trees is getting repetitive

The whiteness that has changed,
The weakness that hasn't
I want to trust in who I am, right here right now.

Hold your left and right hands above your head
And pierce through the darkness, GO!
There's no lies! I've decided it!
As soon as you cross the starting line the world will open up to you!

Flickering over and other until they fade away,
The old streetlights lead me on my usual way

A nostalgic wind blows through this rusty town
It becomes a tailwind that pushes my back forward

Until your tears dry up,
Get rid that resignation in your heart, STOP!
There is no goal!
There's no coming back!
Eternally sprinting, cutting through the wind

Let's return those bitter days, Can you open it?
Your dreams are locked inside Pandora's box

Whether you make the first or second move,
You must move forward, OK!
It's good to rest a bit, I know that
The process of how I've made it up to here is your proof

The Art of Fortune-telling

All my encounters with would-be/full-fledged fortune tellers have led to utter confusion. Each prediction, regarding my future was so contradictory that I wondered whether I am really alive or not. So, among these whack-fortune-tellers, one told me that I'll live for a 100 years (my god!); another told me I'll die early in some accident; some other told me that I'll get married for four times; but soon enough another contradicted him and said that I'll be a one-man-woman (erm...) and on top of that I'll elope with someone! The last one seems quite bleak considering the history of my past relationships. Nevertheless, I am not too sure about any of them. And I will tell you why I don't believe in any of them, because every time after predicting my future they added, 'But you know what? The lines in your hand are not clear yet. So we can't be sure..." That's why I call them "whacks".
This reminds me, I am a much better fortune (future) teller than them! For example, one night I dreamed that our neighbor has bought a puppy. The next day he actually went and bought a pet! Won't you call this brilliant! Although it was a kitten, we can discard that minor problem considering my bias for dogs. Actually this super-'vision'ary quality runs in my blood. My great-great-granny, I heard, could predict the daily weather. After watching Natsume Youjinchou I believe in it all the more. In that animation, Natsume inherited his ability of seeing 'youkai' (ghosts) from his grandmother, Reiko. So it's only natural that the same thing might have happened to me (so nice!).

Hi whoever-is-reading-this-blog,
Welcome to my blog! It's my very first post and am still thinking what to write!
For the sheer lack of ideas on my part, let me begin with the weather. It's a rain washed cloudy morning. I am sitting in front of my laptop while my pet dog tries to chew my table (his name is Jun by the way). The sweet breeze is occasionally disturbed by the honks of cars & motorbikes. But overall, it's a good day to start blogging, writing whatever comes to your mind (I won't dare call it stream-of-consciousness because I am, at the moment, very conscious about what I am writing). So far so good. My next post will be on a dream (since my name signifies that & let me tell you a secret - I dream A LOT! and I remember them ALL!). So, welcome again. Please read my blog, give suggestions, and while the sweet breeze continues to blow, please open your windows and look at the sky for a while. Just a bit. Works wonder you know!
With smiles,
DreamForever
